About CCG
CCG is an educational organization designed to provide support and enrichment for home educating families. Our classes provide supplemental educational experiences on a weekly basis to enrich and expand the learning opportunities for our home-educating families. Our goal is not to supplant the home school vision, or to create a complete school environment, but rather complement your home education studies. We believe that parents are responsible for the education and character development of their children. Our goal is to form and maintain an environment of community which enables the parents, students, faculty, and leadership to support and minister to one another in Christ, striving for both personal and educational growth as we acknowledge Him in all things. Parental participation is a key component to the community aspect of this co-op.
We are not a true co-op in the traditional sense of the word. We do not require parents to teach a class as a standard co-op does; instead, classes are offered by teachers (many of them moms of our students), and families directly pay the teachers a tuition fee. Therefore, families may register for as few or as many classes as desired. We offer a variety of classes from preschool through high school. Although we do not require parents to teach, we are also not a drop-off facility. Parents are required to stay on campus and to volunteer for an hour at a time on a regular basis, usually as a door monitor. Younger siblings are welcome to be with mom during the day.
We meet on Tuesdays, and some middle school and high school classes on Thursdays, at a church in Glen Allen in western Hanover County. In addition to tuition for each class, CCG requires a registration fee of $100 for the first child in a family and $15 for each additional child on campus, as well as an annual $100 cleaning/supply fee.
